Introduction:

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Pravara Medical Trust's Arts, Commerce and Science College, Shevgaon, is established in compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015. The ICC is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all students and staff members, free from any form of sexual harassment

Aim:

• To create and sustain a harassment-free environment where every individual is treated with respect and dignity.


Objectives:

1. To create awareness about sexual harassment and its negative consequences, promoting a culture of respect and dignity.
2. To promptly investigate complaints of sexual harassment, ensuring a fair and impartial process.
3. To resolve complaints of sexual harassment in a timely manner, taking appropriate action against the perpetrator.
4. To provide counseling and support services to victims of sexual harassment, helping them cope
5. To periodically review and update the ICC's procedures and guidelines to ensure their effectiveness and alignment with legal requirements.

Functions of the ICC:

[A] Receiving Complaints:
1. Establish a confidential and accessible process for individuals to file complaints of sexual harassment.
2.Provide guidance on the process and support to complainants in submitting their complaints.
[B] Investigation:
1.Conduct a fair, thorough, and timely investigation into all complaints of sexual harassment.
[C] Maintaining Confidentiality:
1. Ensure the confidentiality of the complainant, the respondent, and the details of the complaint throughout the investigation and resolution process.
[D] Policy Development and Review:
1.Develop, review, and update the college's sexual harassment policy in alignment with legal requirements and best practices.
2.Make recommendations to the college administration for policy improvements.
[E] Advisory Role: 1.Advise the college administration on the creation of a gender-sensitive environment and preventive measures against sexual harassment.
2.Provide recommendations for improving campus safety and inclusivity.
[F] Monitoring Compliance:
1.Ensure that the college complies with the provisions of the POSH Act and UGC regulations.
2.Monitor the implementation of ICC recommendations and the overall effectiveness of the harassment prevention framework.
